9 Signs It’s Time To Hit The Fall Reset Button Now

We’ve left summer well behind and autumn is in full swing. But if you’re like me, you might find it challenging finding a rhythm and getting back to your routines again after the holidays. Also, life can feel a bit out of whack and unbalanced during these months as lots of seasonal events are happening around this time of year, all asking for your attention and time. If you’re feeling out of sync, a bit overwhelmed and like you’re all over the place, it might be time for you to hit the fall reset button.

How do you know you’re ready for a reset?

There are a few signs to watch out for, of which we’re going to explore nine today in this post. When you recognise any of the nine signs or often a combination of them, you know something needs to change in your life. And autumn is the perfect time to slow down, turn inwards and realign with your values and needs for a fresh star and a new sense of energy.

In other words, it’s the perfect time for a reset.

1. Your Good Habits Have Taken A Backseat

You’ve build good and healthy habits at the beginning of the year, but all of a sudden they’ve taken a backseat. Now you feel like you’ve got no time to practice them any more. As a result you feel sluggish, have low energy and are annoyed with yourself for ditching them. You really want to re-establish these good habits, because you know deep down inside that they’re good for you.

2. You’re Focusing On The Negative And Not The Positive

When you’re tired, in a crappy mood day after day and focusing on the negative non-stop, you know it’s time to hit the reset button in your life. Focusing on everything that goes wrong instead of focusing on gratitude, the things that go right and all the good things in your life pulls you into a negativity spiral and drags you down.

3. You’re Feeling On Edge Constantly

Feeling on edge from time to time when you’ve got a lot going on in a short period of time is normal. For example, when you’re working on a big project at work that you’re very much invested in or have to run several errands at once.

However, feeling on edge continuously can led to anxiety and can have a negative impact on your health. Watch out for this.

4. You’re Saying “Yes” When You Actually Want to Say “No”

Does this sound like you? You’re buried in work all the time. Plus, you’re the first in the office and the last one to leave almost every single day. Not because you actually want to, but because you’re behind on your projects and are playing catch-up. There are just so many moving pieces and the ten meetings a day make it hard to get any meaningful work done.

Now, your manager is approaching your desk and asks you to help with yet another project. The voice in your head is screaming “No!” but the words coming out of your mouth are “Sure, yes”

This is a classic example of a lack of boundaries. Hitting the reset button can help you to identify what’s truly important to you so you can set boundaries and honour your own needs.

5. You’re Exhausted

Exhaustion and feeling tired all the time is definitely a sign you need a reset—both physical and mental exhaustion. Sometimes, hitting the reset button simply means allowing yourself to rest and recharge.

Take up a hobby again and do something fun, something that brings you joy. Take a break and book a few days off. If that’s not possible, at least take the evening off. Make sure to prioritise yourself first for once, especially as you settle into the slower pace of autumn.

6. You’re Snappy And Easily Irritated

We all lose patience once in a while, but when small things set you off or you get snappy and yell at your partner for using your favourite coffee mug, you know it’s time to press the reset button.

Being mean and hostile towards others is a clear indication that something needs to change in your life and you’re clearly not happy with how things are going. Use the reset to find clarity and the root cause for your irritation.

7. Your Physical Environment Feels Cluttered and Draining

As they say, a cluttered space reflects a cluttered mind. If your home or workspace feels draining and you dread spending time in that environment, a seasonal reset for fall can help you declutter and bring in new energy.

What do you currently not like about your environment and what can you do about it? Maybe you don’t vibe with your home office. Can you add some plants or move the furniture around to create a space you like spending time in? Can you organise it and find a space for all your bits and bobs?

8. You Feel Emotionally Drained

Emotional exhaustion, when you feel emotionally worn out and drained, can come in many shapes and forms. Signs include the loss of motivation, feeling tired and drained both mentally and physically or having problems to sleep.

A fall reset allows you to identify what is weighing you down and causing your emotional drain, helping you to reconnect, gain clarity and re-establish your focus.

9. You find yourself saying “I wish I …” repeatedly

When you’re living out of alignment, you often find yourself saying things like “I wish I had more time” or “I wish I had some help”.

Using these sentences shows you’re overworked, unsatisfied and perhaps to a bigger extend unhappy with your current life situation.

The question is, what can you do about this? How can you improve your current situation? That’s what pressing the reset button is for. To help you identify what is throwing you out of sync such as actions, decisions and so on so you’re able to do something about it and turn your current situation around.

Do any of these 9 signs feel familiar? If so, you might be ready for a Fall Reset!?

By intentionally pressing the reset button, you’re giving yourself space to reflect, realign and restore balance to your life. It’s important to live in sync with your values and what’s important to you. Being out of balance interrupts your energy flow and can totally throw you off.

Remember, a seasonal reset for fall is a way to embrace the change, especially the changing of the season and allows you to create space for what truly matters in your life.
